3 year old Class Information

I will introduce your child to the letters of the alphabet, numbers and work on classroom skills. We will  work on their fine/gross motor skills and writing their names. Some children pick up on this rather quickly, for others it may take longer. We will have fun activities with music, story time and crafts.  The children will have time for free play each day when they arrive.

Drop off and Pick Up
* Please don't drop children off before 8:55,  I will not be in the classroom before this time. When you arrive for pickup, park in the circle and wait for your child .  I will bring the children around to the front at 11:00.   PLEASE DON'T BE LATE!  If you know you will be late, please make other arrangements for your child so they can be picked up on time.  Children get very concerned when their parents are not there at pick up time.

lllness
*Please keep your child at home if he or she has a fever, thick discharge from nose, flu symptoms, pink eye or is just not feeling well.  Also keep your child at home if they have had vomiting  or loose stools within the last 72 hours. (Norovirus is contagious for at least three days after symptoms subside) This will help keep the other children well, and make it an enjoyable year for everyone.  If I am sick or can't teach for any reason, I will send a text.

Should the need arise, I'm allotted three emergency family/sick days per school year. I will send a text to let everyone know that morning. If I need to use any MORE then 3 days, I will prorate or make up days as needed.

Show and Tell
*Each Friday we have" Show and Tell." I will let you know in the monthly calendar what type of item your child should bring each week. PLEASE DON'T FORGET, children love sharing their special items with the other children. PLEASE DON'T BRING BREAKABLES or ELECTRONICS. I would also appreciate if they left toys at home, unless they go with the letter of the week.  We have plenty of toys at the Preschool.

Change of Clothes****
**Please bring a change of clothing to either keep in your child's backpack or for me to keep at the school.  Label the Zip bag with your child's name.  Sometimes kids have accidents and this will prevent you from having to make an extra trip to the preschool.***

Field Trips
*I will need a permission slip for each child. This slip is good for every field trip during the year. In the fall, there will be one field trip that will require a fee.  I will cover your child for this field trip, but every adult and sibling going will cost around $5. Which is deeply discounted from the regular price. Field trips will be combined with my other classes and will usually be held Wednesday mornings.   I will let you know when and where each field trip will be.  Please check your calendars and texts/email each month for more information.  If you choose not to have your child participate in the scheduled field trips, please let me know.
Parent volunteers will be used to transport students to and from the field trip and  help with supervising. All parents are welcome and I appreciate your help in making field trips successful! All drivers need insurance and working sea t belts.  Everyone also needs to bring a  booster seat/car seat that day

(IT'S THE LAW) and we want your child safe. Please let me know if you are planning on volunteering,

I CAN'T do it without parental help.

Birthdays/Allergies
*On your child's birthday or school day nearest you child's birthday, they will be "King or Queen" for the day. If your child's birthday is in June or July, we will celebrate it later in the year. Please have your child bring a poster or a few pictures,  they can share with the class.  They may also bring a treat to share on their special day.  Please text with any questions.  I will spotlight your child with whatever they bring.  Please don't bring anything with nuts/peanuts.

If your child has an allergy, please let me know.  I have Celiac disease, so I can't have gluten.  Therefore, I am very understanding and careful when it comes to allergies.

Discipline
*I will have a reward for children who obey the rules.  Each day the children will feed " Henry Hippo" a pom pom.  Each time Henry is full, we will have a special bubble gum day.
If a child is constantly misbehaving, I will print a calendar for that child and it will be kept in your child's folder. They will earn a sticker each day when they are good. I don't expect children to be perfect.
